1. All the spots, and sometimes more, return due to a rapid surface cleaning that fails to flush out and remove the residue stuck in lower part of the carpet. A rapid cleaning only uses a little amount of water, but still manages to create a highway for the residue in the bottom of the carpet to wick to the top.
